class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The Board of The Financial Intelligence Unit consists of a Chairperson and two other members.<\/p><p>The Chairman and Board members of the FIU are appointed by the President of the Republic of Mauritius on the recommendation of the Prime Minister made in consultation with the Leader of the Opposition as laid down under Section 12(2) of the Financial Intelligence and Anti- Money Laundering Act 2002.<\/p><p>The Board is responsible for the overall review of the functions of the FIU and is also responsible for its financial management.<\/p><p>The Board does not have the power to consider, discuss or deliberate on any matter relating to the core function of the FIU in respect of any suspicious transaction
