UNSC – 21 May 2020

The United Nations Security Council Subsidiary Organs Branch (the Secretariat) automatically conveys updates to the United Nations Security Council Consolidated List, to States, regional and sub-regional organizations by e-mail shortly following updates made to a Security Council list.

This update to the United Nations Security Council Consolidated List was made on 21 May 2020 following an update the sanctions list maintained by the Security Council Committee pursuant to resolutions 1267 (1999), 1989 (2011) and 2253 (2015) concerning ISIL (Da’esh), and Al-Qaida and associated individuals and entities (the ISIL (Da’esh), and Al-Qaida Sanctions Committee). To this effect, please see below, the links to the United Nations Security Council Press Releases, in English lannguage, concerning the changes to the sanctions list of the above-mentioned Committee:

Also attached below are note verbales in English, from the Chair of the Committee addressed to Permanent Representatives and Observers to the United Nations in New York conveying changes made on 21 May 2020 to the Committee’s list of individuals and entities subject to the assets freeze, travel ban and arms embargo set out in paragraph 1 of Security Council resolution 2368 (2017)  adopted under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations.

The  ISIL (Da’esh), and Al-Qaida Sanctions List is also available in XML, PDF and HTML formats and in all United Nations official languages. The  ISIL (Da’esh), and Al-Qaida Sanctions Committee has also made accessible on its website narrative summaries of reasons for listing the English versions of which are available via the URL:

All States are encouraged to allow implementation of updates to Security Council Consolidated Lists based on e-mails, soft-copy notices, or website postings.

This update to the United Nations Security Council Consolidated List was made on 5 May 2020 following an update the sanctions list maintained by the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 2127 (2013) concerning Central African Republic (CAR) (2127 Sanctions Committee).
