On 01 September 2023, the FIU Mauritius signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Anti-Corruption Coordination Centre (IACCC) following the Cabinet decision dated 09 June 2023, in the presence of the High Commissioner of the United Kingdom to Mauritius, Ms. Charlotte Anik Rachel Pierre.
The signatories were, Ms. Carine Charlette, the Director of the FIU Mauritius and Mr. Daniel Murphy, Head of the IACCC.
FIU Mauritius joins the IACCC, consisting of law enforcement agencies from six countries and Interpol, for the rapid exchange of intelligence and assisting in cases of alleged grand corruption. This MoU reinforces the collaboration in the combat against grand corruption and money laundering cases with swift exchange of information and will create a constructive and cooperative approach including the facilitation of Mutual Legal Assistance requests between the FIU Mauritius and the other Associate Members of the IACCC.
Launched in July 2017, the IACCC has the main objective of bringing together specialist law enforcement officers from multiple agencies around the world to tackle allegations of grand corruption.
