Section 14C of the FIAMLA requires all reporting persons, as defined under the FIAMLA to register with the FIU, established under Section 9 of the FIAMLA. On 27th March 2024, the FIU issued a Notice ‘FIU/Notice/2024/01’ (‘the Notice’) with respect to registration of reporting persons pursuant to Section 14C of the Financial Intelligence and Anti-Money Laundering Act (FIAMLA).
Pursuant to Regulation 3(3), the FIU has determined that any new reporting persons as set out in the Notice shall apply for registration with the FIU. Any person who has, by virtue of its activities, become a reporting person, since the last published Notice for Registration of June 2022 till date of this Notice, should in line with Section 14C and the 2019 Regulations, apply for registration with the FIU within 1 month of this Notice.
Henceforth, any new licensees/entrants, in the categories of reporting persons mentioned in Notice, shall apply for registration with the FIU within 5 working days of obtaining their licence and/or Business Registration Card.
