FINANCIAL INTELLIGENCE CENTRE OF THE REPUBLIC OF NAMIBIA BENCHMARKING AND LEARNING VISIT TO FIU MAURITIUS

A delegation from the Namibia paid a study visit to FIU Mauritius on the 30th and 31st March 2026 for two full days’ workshop on the sharing of expertise, support and to learn about the strategy adopted by Mauritius with regards to several aspects of Mauritius’ AML/CFT supervisory framework.

The delegation comprised of four officials from the Financial Intelligence Centre of The Republic of Namibia. The primary purpose of the study visit was to seek the expertise of the FIU Mauritius in terms of compliance with the view of strengthening the Namibian’s AML/CFT framework. Officers from Compliance Division actively participated in the exchange of expertise. Topics covering the overview of the Mauritian AML/CFT legislative framework, risk assessments, supervision and monitoring processes and methods implemented for outreaches were addressed. Also, a highly interactive session from the delegation with regards to their technological tools for AML/CFT application was held.
