Outreach to Dealers in Precious Metals and Stones

The FIU has conducted individual awareness visits to the premises of most licensed Jewellers in Mauritius in July and August 2020.  

The purpose of the visits was to initiate personal contact with Jewellers and to briefly inform them of the following:

1. Their AML/CFT Obligations under the Law, including suspicious transaction reporting
2. The role of the FIU as the AML/CFT Regulator for the sector; and
3.  The AML/CFT Guidelines issued by the FIU.​
