The requirement to report suspicious transactions, established under Section 14 of the FIAMLA (2002), states that banks, financial institutions, cash dealers or members of relevant professions shall make a report to the FIU on any transaction which they have reason to believe may be a suspicious transaction.
Ways of Reporting:
Reporting institutions wishing to send their reports electronically may do so through the Online Secured STR service, following registration. Each reporting institution will be identified by a username and password which will be granted by the FIU. The OSS is only accessible to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) and to the Deputy MLRO.
Reporting Entities wishing to register online should contact us.
N.B: Please see our Guidance Notes which is intended to assist and guide you in completing the Suspicious Transaction Report (STR) form.
