On 21 October 2024, FIU Mauritius responded to a heartfelt request from the Mille Soleil Association for the Welfare of Disabled Persons, located on Mahatma Gandhi Road in Roche Terre. This generous donation of IT equipment aims to provide individuals with disabilities better access to technology and learning opportunities, fostering an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive. The FIU team was warmly welcomed by Dr. Veemen Kalisetty Appadu and his dedicated staff, who expressed their gratitude for this significant contribution.
That same afternoon, another donation was made to the Northern Association for the Welfare of Disabled People at Royal Road, Roches Noires. This initiative further supports the organization’s philosophy to enhance the quality of life for disabled individuals by improving their access to IT resources. The team was welcomed by the Manager, Ms. Tarunee Mudhoo, who highlighted the importance of such contributions in uplifting the community.
The following day, 22 October 2024, FIU Mauritius responded to the request from the Pure Mind Haven Residential Care Institution for Minors. The FIU delivered computers which will be used by minors in Bonne Terre, Vacoas. Through these initiatives, FIU Mauritius hopes to not only address immediate technological needs but also lays the groundwork for a brighter future for individuals with disabilities and minors in our community.
