Removal of Two Entries from the ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida Sanctions List

The National Sanctions Secretariat of the Republic of Mauritius, has issued a public notice in line with the United Nations (Financial Prohibitions, Arms Embargo and Travel Ban) Sanctions Act 2019 as follows:

Notice removal ISIL 06.06.2023

On 05 June 2023, the UNSC Committee pursuant to resolutions 1267 (1999), 1989 (2011) and 2253 (2015) concerning ISIL (Da’esh), Al‑Qaida and associated individuals, groups, undertakings and entities has removed two entries from its Sanctions List after concluding its consideration of the de-listing requests for these names submitted through the Office of the Ombudsperson established pursuant to Security Council resolution 1904 (2009), and of the Comprehensive Reports of the Ombudsperson on these de-listing requests.

The United Nations Security Council Subsidiary Organs Branch (the Secretariat) automatically conveys updates to the  Committees’ lists and to the United Nations Security Council Consolidated List, to States, regional and sub-regional organizations, and private entities/individuals by e-mail shortly following updates made to the Lists.

The update to the lists mentioned in the subject above was made on 5 June 2023.
